Athletic Sponsorships

Interested in pursuing a sport, activity or athletic goal? Exercise is proven to improve lung function, heart health, mood, and stress management. It has given many of us great rewards in our lives, and we want to share that with you. Stress related to managing CF, time, costs, and getting started should not hold you back!

Coach-Ed can help you get going - whether you're looking to start exercising for the first time, completing your 10th marathon, or hoping to pursue fitness as a career.  APPLY HERE for a Coach-Ed athletic sponsorship and we'll provide you with the support you need to make it happen. If you want some advice on a good athletic program or goal for you, contact us at info@coach-ed.org and one of our trainers can help.

Academic Scholarships

Coach-Ed is proud to provide academic scholarships to cystic fibrosis students pursuing higher education. Whether you're a high school senior heading to a four-year college program, or an adult looking to return to school or add a credential, we would love to support your educational goals. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and scholarships are awarded per semester. Interested students should apply here and we will email you with the current essay question. We look forward to some inspiring, creative responses from our scholarly CF community!

Nutrition Support

Coach-Ed understands that one of the toughest parts of managing health and CF is managing how you fuel your body. CF has many unique challenges with regard to nutrition, and when you're exercising regularly your meals matter even more. We are proud to partner with an excellent dietitian who also has cystic fibrosis, providing you with a great perspective and understanding. We can arrange for email, phone, or video sessions. For nutrition support and advice, please contact vlangloss@coach-ed.org.

Group Training and Events

It’s a fact…exercising your lungs can help you manage Cystic Fibrosis, as well as every day stresses. As with every population, some CF patients are capable of running marathons, while others are working up to a 5k walk. Whatever your situation is, Coach-Ed wants to help you achieve your best level of health and fitness. Coach-Ed is organizing weekly walking and jogging groups for CF athletes, as well as their families and supporters. These exercise groups will be led by two of our most enthusiastic and experienced team members – Marc, a local physical education teacher and athletics coach, and Brian, an IronMan triathlete and athletics coach. The purpose of these group exercise activities is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle and to provide a regular outlet for exercise. On top of that, we’ve found that working out with a team is not only more fun, but it can also provide a reliable, consistent support network for CF patient-athletes, their families and Coach-Ed Inc. team members.

If you are interested in participating in an exercise group, please contact Brian at bmckenna@coach-ed.org.

MENTORING & COACHING

MENTORING & COACHING

Mentoring and Life Coaching

Coach-Ed provides mentoring and life coaching in both individual and group settings.

For individuals, we can assist with goal planning, life-mapping, life skills development, and general positive support for CF patients and their families. If you would like to be assigned a mentor from the Coach-Ed team, please APPLY HERE and be sure to include information about your age, interests and current needs.

For group offerings, Coach-Ed currently hosts a monthly community meeting, both live and via video chat, for adult CF patients over the age of 40. These sessions offer guided conversation and support, a sense of friendship and community, understanding, and of course some laughs. If you are interested in joining this monthly group, please contact tsayer@coach-ed.org.
